World War I Battles
November 3-5, 2003
Quest #1: Online Book Catalog     
1. From the IMC web page, select Online Book Catalog.
2. Type in search terms as specified by the assignment: World War I, name of specific battles, etc.
     Do two searches.  First, do one by  Keyword. If that doesn't get results, then go back and do one by Subject.
     Searching both ways yields the best results.
3. If title is available, get call number and go to the shelf.
4.  Within the record for the book, scroll down to the related SUBJECT headings. Write these down.  You can use these additional search terms in the quests above.
Quest #2: Britannica Online School Edition

2. Select Core Collection
3. Select Britannica Online
4. Type in search terms such as World War I, name of specific battle, etc.

3. Select EBSCOhost, and then Secondary Search.
4. Select MAS Ultra - School Edition,Academic Search Premier, and Newspaper Source.
5. Type in search terms as specified above.

1. Encyclopedia of First World War - Scroll down to table on first page. Click on Important Battles. Recommended by Ms.Tilly.
2. PBS The Great War - Interactive timeline, maps and locations.
3. BBC-War and Conflict-World War I -This site has an animation Map of the Western Front and much more.

5. Photos of the Great War – Recommended by WebFeet and MarcoPolo.
